Wonderful, calming and "respectful" painting of a young woman holding a farm implement. The painting is signed LR, William Hicok Low, and is dated 1927. The frame may be original. I do not think these photos do justice to the exquisite use of color by this highly regarded painter, who lived from 1853-1932. This example, done later in his life, reflects the benefit of his maturation as a painter as well as the wistfu, thoughtful sense the picture inspires.  (A10)
