Cornelius Ruhtenberg [1923- ] Original Painting Entitled "Jules"

Item#: 14730

Cornelius Ruhtenberg, a Latvian-born painter and the wife of Jules Kirschenbaum, one of the most influential Central Iowa painters of his generation, is a fine listed artist in her own right.

She began exhibiting to rave reviews in the 1940's. Her work has been exhibited at the Met, MoMA, the Corcoran and other fine museums across the country.

Ruhtenberg invented a figurative style that never quite fit within any particular style of the modern art movement. Some have coined her work as " Spiritual Art."

Very few paintings by Ruhtenberg remain on the market. This painting, entitled "JULES" is a portrait of her husband and is fresh to the market from a fine estate.
