Yellow Haze From The Drip Series 1981 By Berenice D'Vorzon

Berenice D'Vorzon is a New York born Abstract Expressionist/Experientialist painter. She was raised in the Bronx near Pelham Bay and Orchard Beach and as a young girl became interested in the sea and the enviironment. She studied at the HIgh School of Music and Art in Manhattan, the Art Students League, Queens College and Columbia University. She has taught at universites around the country and has been a visiting artist at numerous institutions and art  schools.Most of her paintings deal with water images and her own experiences of being in nature. In the 1970's and 1980's she began to explore the issue of the environment. She investigated and then painted images from Southern swamps, Long Island wetlands, the River Li in China and coral reefs and jungles in the Caribbean. She was strongly influenced by Jackson Pollack, Kline and De Kooning. She is recognized as an Experientialist painter.
